  • Consider arresting people with duplicates certificates.
  • Investigating public servants, especially Law Enforcement Officers owning taxis.

  • State to review and increase 5 years taxi permits to atleast 10 years or more.
  • Association to make presentations at the public hearings on proposed amendment to National Land Transport Act.
  • Jaws officials and Traffic Officers to be rotated around the province
  • Work well with women especially those whose partners were involved in the industry.
  • Corporate with government, on a mission to close the trust deficit with taxis and communities.

  • The MEC also committed to convene a meeting between the SAPS, law enforcement and other associations from Kanana and Khuma that seems to have bigger problems.

The following day saw the MEC conducting inspection visits to the Potchefstroom, Ventersdorp and Lightenburg weighbridges which are expected to be completed and opened in this financial year. The visit is a precursor to that which is envisaged to include a walk-about at these landmarks by the North West Provincial Legislature Portfolio Committee.
